Since 1907, The Millbrook Hunt has served as a pillar of Northeast Dutchess County. We honor the long-standing traditions of the Hunt, with a steadfast commitment to upholding the beauty of the land, the thrill of the chase, and the connection between rider, horse, and hound.

Having open land to hunt is critical, and since its founding, the Millbrook Hunt has worked with local farmers and landowners to preserve open space. Many of the founders of the Dutchess Land Conservancy (DLC) in 1985 were members and leaders of the Millbrook Hunt. The DLC has gone on to secure easements on more than 46,000 acres of land in Dutchess County and is considered one of the premier land conservancy organizations in the country.

Fox hunting is a traditional sport in which riders on horseback follow a pack of foxhounds in pursuit of quarry; the emphasis being respect for the tracking capabilities of the hounds and the thrill of the chase.

The Hunt sponsors equestrian-related and social events, including events for landowners and local farmers, including bar-b-ques, trail rides, and hound and puppy shows, many of which are open to the entire community. The Millbrook Hunt is sustained through membership fees, donations, and special events.
